Archbishop Dr. Michael and Deacon Donna Layne founded and established the educational ministry in 1997 and named it School of Christian Ministry.  The name changed to St. Paul Christian University of which the School of Christian Ministry offers undergraduate degrees and Covenant Divinity Seminary offers graduate degrees.

Legal and Accreditation Information

Saint Paul Christian University and its colleges, admit students of any race, nationality, color, sex, age, or disability in its educational programs, activities, and employment as required by the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Amendments including Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972.

The university complies with the Privacy Act for Students, 20 U.S.C. 1232(g) and regulations adopted and pursuant thereto.

Saint Paul Christian University, Inc. conforms to Indiana Code of 1971 Sections 20-1-19-1 through 20-1-19-24. Article 1, Sections 2, 3 and 4 of the Constitution of the State of Indiana, as well as the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, as a private Bible College exempt from State Private School Accreditation.

As with its peer academic institutions, SPCU retains the right to accept or decline credits and degrees.  Among all legitimate institutions of higher learning there may be likelihood, but no absolute guarantee of credit or degree acceptance.

 SPCU holds no accreditation, private or otherwise, from any agency at this time.   SPCU has proven itself to be credible by the credentials of the faculty, providing quality curriculum and limitations on the awarding of honorary degrees.  SPCU is a higher education ministry of the Lutheran Orthodox Church Archdiocese of Mid America.
